Colomitos Sea Kayaking and Snorkeling
Our morning will start at Marina Vallarta, near the central coast of the scenic Banderas Bay, the third largest natural bay in Mexico and home to stunning marine life both large and small.
We’ll kayak to the beautiful and secluded cove of Colomitos, where we’ll snorkel with exotic tropical fish in some of the clearest water Mexico has to offer. Banderas Bay, where we will begin our exciting kayaking adventure, is one of the deepest bays in the world (up to two miles deep in some areas) and is sheltered on three sides by the Sierra Madres. These ideal conditions make for calm, clear depths that attract an impressive array of oceanic life. In addition to numerous tropical species, the Bay is home to giant manta rays, sea turtles, dolphins and humpback whales, so be sure to bring your camera. Prepare for some of the most delightful snorkeling you’ve ever experienced when we land in beautiful Colomitos, a secluded topical paradise that is hidden from view of all but the most resourceful tourists.
Underwater, you’ll enjoy spectacular views of eels, puffer fish, king angels, giant damselfish, reef cornetfishes, sergeant majors and rainbow rasses. The ecosystem on land is equally rich. You’ll be lulled by the song of jungle birds like the macaw and the cacique and might spy a glimpse of the local wildlife, which includes foxes, armadillos, ocelots, raccoons, lizards and mountain crabs.
Ground transportation and all equipment along with am expert bilingual guide and wildlife identification charts are included in the cost of the tour. We also serve a light tasty lunch in order to provide the perfect energy boost to keep your snorkeling adventure going.
